Who We Are
Chellz Wild Events ("we", "us", "our") runs private, members-only adult social events in Hawkes Bay, New Zealand. We are responsible for the personal information you give us through this website and at our events, and we handle it in line with the Privacy Act 2020 and its Information Privacy Principles.
What We Collect
We only collect what we need to run safe, private events:
- Membership applications: your name, email, phone number, general location, whether you're applying as a single or couple, how you heard about us, and anything you choose to tell us.
- Ticket orders: your name, contact details, the event, number of tickets, amount and payment status, and your booking reference.
- Contact enquiries: your name, contact details and message.
- At events: we check photo ID at the door to confirm you're 18 or over. We do not copy or keep your ID.
- Payments: bank transfers are made through your own bank. We see the name and reference on the payment, but never your card or online banking details.
How We Use It
- To review your membership application and keep our community safe.
- To send your member code and manage your membership.
- To process ticket reservations, match payments and confirm your place.
- To send you event details, including the venue address, and important updates or changes.
- To reply to your enquiries.
- To enforce our Terms and Conditions and Etiquette and Policies, including keeping a record of anyone whose membership has been cancelled.
We will only send you marketing or event announcements if you've agreed to receive them, and you can opt out at any time.
Storage and Security
- Your information is stored in a secure, access-controlled database. Only Chellz Wild Events administrators can view applications and ticket orders.
- Member codes are stored in scrambled (hashed) form, so they can't be read even by us.
- We limit access to those who need it and take reasonable steps to protect your information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access.
- If a privacy breach is likely to cause serious harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner as the law requires.
How Long We Keep It
- Declined applications and contact enquiries are deleted within 12 months.
- Member details are kept while your membership is active, and deleted within 12 months of it ending, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
- Ticket and payment records are kept for 7 years, as New Zealand tax law requires.
- Where a membership has been cancelled for a safety reason, we may keep a minimal record to prevent re-entry.
Your Device and Cookies
We don't use advertising cookies or sell browsing data. We store a small amount of information on your own device:
- Age confirmation: remembers that you've confirmed you're 18 or over, so you aren't asked on every page.
- Member sign-in: keeps you signed in on the Events page so you can buy tickets.
You can clear these at any time through your browser settings. Our website host may also collect basic, anonymous visit statistics to keep the site running well.
Your Rights
Under the Privacy Act 2020 you have the right to:
- Ask whether we hold personal information about you, and see it.
- Ask us to correct information that's wrong.
- Ask us to delete your information or end your membership.
- Withdraw your consent to receive event announcements.
To make a request, contact us. We'll respond within 20 working days, and there's no charge.
Other Guests' Privacy
Protecting each other's privacy is a condition of membership. Photos, video and recordings of guests are prohibited, and you must never share another guest's name, image or details. Breaking this rule will result in removal and cancellation of your membership.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be available on this page. If we make significant changes, we'll let members know.
Contact and Complaints
For any privacy question, request or concern, please contact us and choose "General Enquiries". Our Privacy Officer will get back to you.
